About 2 miles from Broseley Linley takes its name from 'lime-tree hill. In 1852 there were 19 inhabited houses and by 1931 the population had declined to 55. The centre of Linley is Linley Hall and farm. The core of Linley Hall (below) is a stone medieval house which was remodeled in the early 17th century.
